If you think that's a little on the "I love my sweater too much" side, then you haven't seen anything yet.
I present to you
Exhibit A: Jon Stewart on Larry King Live (December 2004)

Exhibit B: Jon Stewart on Crossfire (October 15, 2004)

Exhibit C: Jon Stewart on Primetime Glick (June 5, 2003)

Exhibit D: Jon Stewart on Richard Pryor: I Ain't Dead Yet (Date Unknown)

Exhibit E: Jon Stewart on American Perspectives (October 14, 2004) (noted by
jennilee)

Exhibit F: Jon Stewart on The O'Reilly Factor (September 17, 2004) (noted by
alelsc)

Exhibit G: Jon Stewart on Late Night with Conan O'Brien (Summer 1999) (noted by
shape5

Exhibits F-ZZZZZ: Here (Go for the proof, stay for the near-nudity!)</center>
Here, on 23 separate occasions, on various separate days, years apart in some cases, Jon Stewart is wearing the same sweater.
Perhaps the sweater contains his livelihood. Perhaps it is what he was wearing when Satan dropped him off as Anti-Christ at the Liebowitz' doorstep, and he wears it all the time underneath his Daily Show attire, like Superman. Perhaps he is a robot. Perhaps he has sentimental attachment to the sweater. Perhaps he really does work at Bennigan's because Comedy Central doesn't pay him anything and so he is forced to wear that sweater. Perhaps he has an entire closetful of the same sweater, like on Doug. Perhaps he is a robot assuming human attire.
We may never know the truth, but we are one step closer.

Umm.. in blue.

It can go like this:
I know what you did.
It makes me sick.
I'm going to tell.
I do like that sweater though, so maybe there should be a P.S.

It's just kind of amusing to observe this tendency and also, that the sweater is still in good condition.

I think it's totally hilarious that I think it's odd that he wears the same sweater many times over but I, myself, have worn each of my sweaters more than 6 times each...
btw, where'd you get the richard pryor vid?
December 13 2004, 05:48:32 UTC 7 years ago
And yeah, I wear the same stuff all the time too, but I think it's funny he does it even when somebody like me is going to figure it out one day.
Richard Pryor was just on Comedy Central a couple weeks ago and I TiVo'd it, so I don't know where to get it online.

I think the whole sweater things stands out to us because
1) He always looks so spiffy in those suits
2) I hate to say it, but it's not that great of a sweater. I mean come on, with the t-shirt showing underneath? Once or twice would have been cool, but does he have to wear it whenever he leaves the daily show set?
December 13 2004, 05:57:38 UTC 7 years ago
It stands out to me because he mentioned it on Larry King, and I was watching the other two immediately afterward.
But yeah, we probably would have figured it out anyway.
Perhaps he is genetically linked to the sweater!

Maybe he only has two outfits when he's not working. Suit, and sweater.
Though honestly, if it were at all possible without wasting a lot of money on laundry or febreeze, I would probably wear the same thing every day.
But I'm glad I'm not just totally insane for thinking the Larry King sweater was the same as the Crossfire sweater.
Yay!
December 13 2004, 07:40:19 UTC 7 years ago
And yes, we have discussed the America reading and have concluded that he switched the undershirt and the sweater around.

OR
Hes like Einstein, wearing the same style all the time but a nice quantity of the same thing. Like a cartoon character such as.. Hey Arnold.
December 13 2004, 07:43:05 UTC 7 years ago
I agree though, he does look good in the sweater, so I have no objections.
Actually he looks good in most things.
Actually, he looks good in all things. Even with a pen in his eye.

Larry King Live (June 25, 2004)
Dude, it's like his wardrobe is nothing more than a set of palette swaps, like old fighting games where there's a 1P color and a 2P one or something.
